My Augmented Reality Experience

Hi everyone! Today I want to indtroduce you to another experience of mine: Augmented Reality. It may seem similar with the Virtual Reality but they are different in so many ways. First of all let me introduce you to the term of Augmented Reality. Augmented reality (AR) is a type of interactive, reality-based display environment that takes the capabilities of computer generated display. It aims to enhance the user's real world experience. The goal of Augmented Reality is to create a system which the user can't tell the difference between the real world and the virtual augmentation of it. Augmented Reality is used in many areas of life such as interior design, games, education, military training robotics etc. For example I recently experienced the IKEA App. This application allows you to easily select the furniture you want. All you have to do is download the app and point your device to where you want to put your furniture. The app will show you how its going to look according to its actual size.

  Here is another example of augmented reality.
  It is very advantageous to organize such events        for shopping malls. You can reach a lot of people    and you can educate them with these awesome       technologies that we have. 









Augmented Reality has a great place in education too. I recently watched a video of a teacher and he was using Augmented Reality in his classroom to teach the human body and the organs. 
The same goes for language teaching. Supporting the new language with live videos and pictures is really helpful for students. Its like flashcards but the flashcards you have in Augmented Reality is moving and seems real. Thats why students can remember them easily. For example; you can experience a dinosaur's roar immediately. You don't have to imagine the dinosaur in your mind. You have a living footage of it.

My Virtual Reality Experience

Hi everyone! Today I want to talk about my recent experience that I loved : Virtual Reality. Virtual Reality is a computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment. Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment. You can experience it so extreme that it sometimes can make you sick. Virtual reality sickness occurs when exposure to a virtual environment causes symptoms that are similar to motion sickness symptoms.The most common symptoms are general discomfort, headache, stomach awareness, nausea, vomiting, pallor, sweating, fatigue, drowsiness, disorientation, and apathy. Tools:Socrative

We have a new addition to our tools family: Socrative! Socrative  is a cloud-based student response system developed in 2010 by Boston-based graduate school students. It allows teachers to create simple quizzes that students can take quickly on any device that they have (laptops,computers,smartphones,tablets)  You have 3 options to create a quiz:multiple choice, true/false, short answer. This platform helps students to learn anywhere and how they want. Every student is different and they can take the tests however they want. To some students, true or false is a good way to learn but according to some students, it makes the learning process harder and they become confused. You can keep track of your students and take notes of their progress. It makes the feedback process easier and you get to know the every individual student. I created a quiz with using the true/false technic and I enjoyed it very much.
